The Love Nest

This is a 330-square-metre duplex double-deck housing project in Changzhi, Shanxi Province. It aims to provide residents with a home experience space that combines traditional culture and modern craftsmanship, simplicity and luxury.
The project's location in Changzhi, Shanxi Province, inspires the design team to incorporate the region's natural beauty and cultural heritage. By incorporating neo-Chinese architecture, this design creates a three-dimensional spatial structure by rearranging and interweaving simple lines and planes. This structure is then integrated into the home's overall design, effectively blending modern art with traditional culture. The result is a home experience space with a strong sense of belonging and a cosy atmosphere showcasing the mastery of space and emotion.
This duplex double-deck housing features a vertical layout that divides the dining and living spaces from the bedroom and bathroom. The upper and lower floors are connected by a staircase, creating a distinct layering effect and an open yet linked atmosphere. The overall interior of the building is made of Chinese-style solid wood and marble, achieving a visual effect that blends heaviness and lightness.
The ground floor features a beautiful combination of smooth circular and curved lines, complemented by modern furniture with low saturation, resulting in a seamless blend of simplicity and luxury. Using natural elements such as light, shadow, and flowers creates a serene and comfortable atmosphere, balancing nature and life in the home space. The design of the first-floor space aims to create a modern and relaxing atmosphere that meets its users' emotional and behavioural needs. The second-floor space establishes a connection between the spatial form and the family emotions of the residents by using natural colours and textures. The result is a warm and cosy living space that feels like a home and provides a unique experience for its inhabitants.
