Project
Introduction

This investigation seeks to revive heathland in urban settings, focusing on Hampstead Heath and its potential extension to Clitterhouse Playing Fields in Brent Cross. Inspired by Hampstead Heath’s historical expansions, the proposal incorporates sheep grazing as traditional landscape maintenance, blending human and non-human spaces while promoting a green network and discovery trails. Critiquing the Brent Cross Regeneration Programme, it reimagines the site’s farming heritage, adding allotments, restoring green-blue links, and de-culverting the river. The design envisions an educational, interactive space where humans connect with heathland flora and fauna, fostering shared social and ecological experiences.
